HUM was born from a simple observation: the places where humans thrive most are the places where nature thrives too. Not preserved behind fences, not cleared for foundations — but woven together, each strengthening the other.
The Founder
Founded by José Pablo Toscano — a serial entrepreneur who spent a decade building ventures in travel and technology before turning his energy toward the deeper question of how we inhabit the earth — HUM is not a consultancy. It's a platform for rethinking what development means.

The Vision
We conceive, finance, and build regenerative projects ourselves. If you're going to ask the world to build differently, you should do it first. HUM Reserves will be living proof of what humans can be: a keystone species whose presence increases the vitality of everything around it.

Philosophy
Most development starts from separation — nature over here, civilization over there. We start from wholeness: a place is a single living conversation between soil, water, species, and people. Our work is to listen to that conversation until we hear the truth, and to build from there.
Nature and civilization are not opposites — they are companions in an ancient conversation that HUM is here to evolve.
How can a residential community become a biological corridor? How can a luxury resort strengthen the cloud forest it sits within? How can human development become an act of ecological repair?
This is not sustainability. This is regeneration.
Approach
Every project begins with deep listening to the land — its ecology, its history, its potential. We never impose a template.
We design at whole-ecosystem scale — where soil, water, species, community, and capital are one living system — because regeneration requires alignment at every level.
We don't just advise. We build our own projects, investing our own capital and reputation to prove that a different model works.
