Origin
HUM was born from a simple observation: the places where humans thrive most are the places where nature thrives too.
Founded by José Pablo Toscano — a serial entrepreneur who spent a decade building ventures in travel and technology before turning his energy toward the deeper question of how we inhabit the earth — HUM is not a consultancy. It's a platform.
We don't just advise on regenerative projects. We conceive them, finance them, and build them ourselves. We believe that if you're going to ask the world to build differently, you should be willing to do it first.
Philosophy
The Wilderness–Civilization Duality
Most development treats wilderness as something to clear and civilization as something to impose. HUM starts from a different premise.
Wilderness and civilization are not opposites — they are partners in an ancient, unfinished conversation.
How can a residential community become a biological corridor? How can a luxury resort strengthen the cloud forest it sits within? How can human settlement become an act of ecological repair?
This is not sustainability. This is regeneration.
